FRESH TO THE MARKET FROM A HOUSE CLEARANCE. A VERY RARE TUNIC AND CAP TO AN OBSERVER SERVING WITH THE POLISH 663 RAF SQUADRON, AIR OBSERVATION POST. A SQUADRON SET UP IN ITALY, AUGUST 1944, DISBANDED IN 1946. WORKING CLOSELY WITH THE ROYAL ARTILLERY FOR SPOTTING. AIRMAN’S SIMPLIFIED TUNIC WITH OBSERVER AND NCO INSIGNIA TO THE SLEEVES. KINGS CROWN RAF BUTTONS. POLISH INSIGNIA MADE IN ITALY INCLUDING THE VERY RARE 663 DSA SQUADRON BADGE IN ENAMEL. THIS MADE BY LORIOLI OF MILAN. A TWO PART BADGE WITH NO LOSS TO THE ENAMEL. THE PRE-WAR POLISH BADGE OF THE 1ST AIR REGIMENT OF WARSAW. THIS ASSUMED TO BE THEATER MADE BY AN ITALIAN MAKER. ALSO THE PRE-WAR POLISH OBSERVERS WING BADGE IN SILVER , AGAIN ASSUMED TO THEATER MADE. SADLY NO NAME TO THE TUNIC, BUT CAME WITH A BLUE WEB RAF WAIST BELT WITH SERIAL NUMBER TO THE BACK THAT MAY BE POSSIBLE TO TRACE. THE TUNIC IS FITTED WITH A RARE AND NICE RIBBON BAR. IN BRASS WITH ENAMEL COLOURS WITH TWO POLISH AND TWO BRITISH RIBBONS, THE POLISH WAR MEDAL WITH CROSS SWORDS. THIS BAR ONE PIECE, 125 MM WIDE. TUNIC HAS A SMALL AREA OF MOTH TO THE RIGHT SHOULDER AND ANOTHER SMALL AREA TO THE LOWER BACK. WITH HIS SIDE CAP. ITALIAN MADE POLISH AIR FORCE EAGLE FITTED THROUGH ONE OF THE GROMMETS. FINDS LIKE THIS ARE GETTING FAR FEWER AND THE UNIT BADGES VERY RARE.
