THE SWIFT TRAINING RIFLE. BEFORE ADVANCING TO FIRING WEAPONS, SOLDIERS, IN THIS CASE OF THE RAF REGIMENT WERE TOUGHT HOW TO HANDLE A RIFLE WITH A SWIFT DEVICE. BOLT ACTION RELEASES A PIN TO THE FRONT TO PIERCE A CARD TO SHOW THAT THE USER HAD LINED UP THE SIGHTS CORRECTLY. WITH A SPRUNG LOADED BUTT PLATE, THE DEVICE DOES NOT FIRE UNLESS THE USER HAS IT PULLED INTO THEIR SHOULDER. THE DEVICE IN EXCELLENT CONDITION HAVING BEEN PROTECTED IN ITS WOODEN CASE. LABEL INSIDE WITH 1942 DATE. THE CASE SHOWS WEAR. THE LEATHER HANDLE IS MISSING. SOME OF THE DEVIDERS INSIDE LOOSE. THE BOTTOM END WHICH HOLDS THE BUTT PLATE DEVICE IN HAS GONE, PUSHED AWAY BY THE SPRING BUTT PLATE. CASE COULD DO WITH A LITTLE WORK / TIDYING UP. RARE SET, ESPECIALLY WITH THE RAF MARKS AND REFERENCE NUMBERS
