Product Information
on consignment – A great well used pennant here, which would have been flown from the front fender of an Admirals staff car. This one has been extensively used and flown, and was bought back to England as a souvenir from a soldier who served in Holland. These Admirals pennants are all the same in construction. A high quality cotton or wool triangle with the Kriegsmarine eagle and swastika embroidered into the center in yellow cottons. Along the three edges is a thick band gilt bullion ribbon, which is embroidered with swastikas. This pennant was obviously used a lot and flown a lot, and can just imagine this soldier pulling it off the car fender! The flying edge of the pennant, the narrow triangular part, has been period repaired with similar gilt bullion wide ribbon, but this bullion ribbon does not have the swastika embroidered into it. In addition, on one side of the pennant there is a small hole in the blue cloth body, which shows the interior cloth. This is an undeniably ‘used\ original pennant and would make a great display in a naval collection or similar.
