CLASSIC IMPERIAL JAPANESE NAVAL SWORD WITH CORRECT NAVAL TSUBA , UTILISING AN ANTIQUE FAMILY BLADE.
GOOD QUALITY TACHI , BLADE, 678 MM LONG INCLUDING THE HABAKI. BLADE IS CRISP WITH SOME LIGHT PATCHING. TANG WITH SINGLE PEG HOLE AND GOOD CLEAR SIGNATURE. IN ITS ORIGINAL SHARK SKIN COVERED WOODEN SCABBARD. AS SHOWN, THE SHARK SKIN HAS CRUMPLED INTO A POSITION LOWER DOWN THE WOOD. SOME STRING TO HOL THE TOP OF THE SCABBARD TIGHT. NOT IMPOSSIBLE TO SOAK THE SHARK SKIN, ND DRY IT OUT IN THE CORRECT SHAPE. ALTERNATELY, THE SWORD COMES WITH THE SHOWN PLAIN BLACK REPLACEMENT WHICH FITS WELL.
