(on consignment).EXTREMELY RARE TO FIND IN THIS CONDITION. LONG ENGLISH HOLSTER PISTOL MADE FOR A BRITISH OFFICER, PROBABLY OF CAVALRY FROM THE LENGTH. THE BARREL JUST SHY OF 13 INCHES. THE METALWORK IN COMPLETELY UNTOUCHED CONDITION. THREE STAGE BARREL WITH LONDON PROOF MARKS. 28 BORE. THE LOCK, UNTOUCHED, ALL ORIGINAL, NO REPLACED PARTS. WITH A DEEP DARK BROWN PATINA. THE MAKER NAME NOT CURRENTLY VISIBLE, BUT CAN BE PARTLY SEEN BELOW THE PATINA. IF THE LOCK WERE CLEANED, THEN THE MAKER NAME WOULD BE REVEALED, BUT WHAT A SHAME THAT WOULD BE .WOULD TAKE LITTLE TIME TO REMOVE A PATINA UNTOUCHED FOR MANY MANY YEARS. STOCK IS EXCELLENT WITH NO SHRINKAGE AROUND THE LOCK. THE LOCK TYPICAL OF THE PERIOD WITH A BANANA SHAPED TAIL. RINGED RAMROD PIPES, TYPICAL OF THE 1730′S PERIOD. LARGE BRASS SKULL CRUSHER BUTT CAP WITH GROTESK FACE. FINELY ENGRAVED TO THE SIDES WITH SCROLL WORK AND FOLIAGE. ENGRAVINGS TO THE LONG SPURS. ENGRAVED AND PIERCED SIDE NAIL PLATE. STOCK WITH FIGURING TO THE BARREL TANG, THE SIDES, AND THE RAMROD AREA. FINE AND RARE PISTOL FROM THE BATTLE OF CULLODEN PERIOD . 19.5 INCHES LONG, RARE TON FIND STILL AT ITS FULL LENGTH, SO MANY OF THESE EARLY LONG FLINTERS CUT DOWN IN LATER DECADES.
