(on consignment). BATTLE DAMAGED EARLY ARMY HELMET. THIS WAS FOUND BY A BATTLEFIELD SOVENIR COLLECTOR IN THE 1970′S, IN THE ARDENES, FROM THE CONDITION, MOST LIKELY A BARN FIND. SUFFERED FROM SHELL BLAST’S, A SMALL AREA MISSING TO THE FRONT PEAK. CRACK RUNNING THROUGH THE ARMY DECAL. SMALL HOLE ABOVE THE NATIONAL DECAL. WITH MOST OF ITS EARLY APPLE GREEN PAINT FINISH. ALUMINIUM LINER BAND WITH AROUND HALF OF THE LINER REMAINING. TO THE ENDS OF THE LINER REMAINS, THE LEATHER IS DISCOLOURED AND STIFF. THIS SUGGEST THE THE LEATHER THAT HAS GONE PROBABLY ROTTED AWAY FROM BEING SOAKED IN BLOOD. IF BEING WORN BY AN INFANTRYMAN AT THE TIME OF THE SHELL BLAST, CERTAINLY A K.I.A. HELMET. GREAT LOOKING PIECE.
