GERMAN MADE SUITCASE WITH LOHMANN MAKER PLATE. HAS LABEL STUCK TO THE OUTSIDE , – (PROBABLY NEED AS HE WAS IN HIS CIVVIES) A TRAVEL PERMIT DATED MAY 1944. ANOTHER LABEL TO THE BASE SO THAT IT COULD BE QUICKLY SEEN WHEN IN A TRAIN LUGGAGE RACK. AND TO THE INSIDE A THIRD LABEL STATING HE IS TRAVELLING FROM – TO HOSPITAL. POSSIBLY A BADLY WOUNDED SOLDIER WHO TRAVELED A LOT, TIRED OF BEING ASKED TO SHOW HIS PASS, HE GLUED IT TO THE CASE FOR QUICK VIEW. CASE WELL USED AND WORN. ONE OF THE LOCKS DETACHED BUT PRESENT AS SHOWN. 665 MM ACROSS. RARE PIECE.
